Point Hotel Begins a New Chapter

Point Hotel Begins a New Chapter with Design-Led Transformation and Culinary Rebrand

Point Hotel (formerly The Point Brisbane Hotel) is unveiling a bold new era, investing in a major transformation that will elevate both the hotel and the iconic Kangaroo Point precinct. The vision is to position the neighbourhood as one of Brisbane’s most desirable places to stay, dine and explore.

Perfectly situated between the CBD and Brisbane Airport, and bordered by the Brisbane River and Story Bridge, Kangaroo Point has long been a favourite among locals for its scenic outlook and relaxed charm. Now, Point Hotel is shining a spotlight on the area’s potential as a true destination for leisure guests, business travellers and digital nomads seeking convenience, comfort and culture in equal measure.

The transformation is being brought to life through a partnership with award winning design studio Bergman & Co, known for projects such as The Continental Sorrento and Hotel Esplanade, and leading hospitality fitout specialists Unita, whose experience spans some of Brisbane’s most renowned venues including MAYA and Fiume Rooftop Bar. Their approach will combine natural textures, lush greenery and intimate lighting to reflect the subtropical rhythm of Queensland life.

“Our vision is to shape a true landmark for Kangaroo Point, a place the local community can take pride in and one that visitors will naturally gravitate toward,” said Jin Keng Ng, Director of Point Hotel, “We are elevating the hotel experience with care, confidence, and a deep respect for this remarkable location”.

This upgrade marks the beginning of a staged plan that will continue with a pool and wellness refresh, and guest room enhancements over the coming years, further embedding Point Hotel as a leading lifestyle destination heading into Brisbane’s Olympic decade.

“Whether they’re with us to stay or dine, we want every guest to feel relaxed and inspired,” said Aaron Roberts, General Manager. “With exceptional dining, a thoughtful design approach and our signature warm service, Point Hotel will offer a new style of hospitality for guests who want to feel connected to the city.”

From 15th December, work will begin to reinvent the lobby, bar and restaurant spaces, delivering a contemporary and design-forward arrival and dining experience that reflects the evolving energy of the city. All dining services will remain fully operational, relocating temporarily to the hotel’s celebrated rooftop to ensure guests continue to enjoy exceptional service and spectacular skyline views.

As part of this next chapter, Point Hotel will introduce a completely refreshed food and beverage identity under Head Chef  Marcus Turner to be revealed in 2026. The reimagined restaurant and rooftop concept will embrace seasonal Queensland produce, delivering modern dining that celebrates connection and encourages shared moments from breakfast through to late evening drinks.

Hotel operations, events and accommodation will continue seamlessly throughout the refresh, with the transformed dining and lobby spaces set to unveil in early 2026.

Point Hotel welcomes the community, media and future guests to follow the journey as the property redefines this riverside icon and champions Kangaroo Point as Brisbane’s most exciting lifestyle precinct.
