Job Title: Senior Designer

Location: Sunshine Coast, Australia

Position Type: Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Senior Designer to join the team and manage a number of projects across our client portfolio.

Smith Madden is a premium creative and marketing agency based on the Sunshine Coast, working with businesses locally and globally. A boutique team, we push the boundaries on innovation and pride ourselves on our results driven strategies, stellar client portfolio and high-quality work.

As a Senior Designer at Smith Madden, you will play a key role in conceptualising and executing high-quality design solutions across various mediums. You will work closely with our clients, as well as our internal team, to translate creative briefs into visually stunning designs that translate for sales & marketing. Your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to effectively communicate ideas will be essential in delivering exceptional results.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and objectives.

  • Conceptualise and develop creative design concepts that align with client branding and marketing strategy.

  • Produce a wide range of design deliverables, including but not limited to: branding materials, visual communication, marketing collateral, digital assets, and product packaging.

  • Execute designs across multiple platforms, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually elevate the quality of our design work.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Report to and consistently communicate with our Creative Director and Account Director.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines effectively.

  • Communicate proactively with clients and internal team members to ensure project milestones are met and expectations are exceeded.

  • Work collaboratively across various creative editorials and partnerships through our magazine paper mâché.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design expertise.

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, and other relevant design software.

  • Excellent understanding of design principles, typography, and colour theory.

  • Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Experience working with clients from various industries is preferred.

  • A passion for creativity and a drive to continuously learn and grow as a designer.
